Friends of Berowra Valley  inc. is an authorised community service group dedicated to assist the managers in the support of the Park

The Hon, Matt Kean MP Local Member for Hornsby announcing in May 2012 at Barnetts Lookout, the intention to increase the status of the Park to that of a National Park. Also present were the Hon Robyn Parker MP, Minister for the Environment Minister for Heritage and Mr Bob Conroy Executive Director - Park Management, NSW Office of Environment & Heritage, Department of Premier & Cabinet. Members of The Friends and representatives of other environmental groups were also present.
